MediaWhiz Expands Affiliate Network by Chris Trayhorn, Publisher of mThink Blue Book, April 18, 2013 MediaWhiz is planning a dramatic expansion of their MonetizeIt affiliate network with around 150 new campaigns across a broader range of verticals. I ran into Peter Klein of MediaWhiz here in San Francisco last week and he explained that their ongoing integration with parent company Matomy Media Group is providing the network with increased reach, more diversity of offers and greater focus on mobile, social and international. “This is going to give our publishers and advertisers real benefits,” he told me. “We are going to be able to provide our advertisers with more volume and a greater variety of traffic, including international. We now have in-house social media, display and mobile teams, so we can offer even better levels of service.” In a week in which the Google Affiliate Network has announced that they are closing their doors, this seems like a good time for MediaWhiz to be making these kinds of expansionary moves. There are going to be possibly thousands of publishers looking for a new favorite network and it’s clear that Mediawhiz have these people in mind. “Publishers have always been the heart of our network so we wanted to ensure that affiliates gained real benefits from our expansion,” Peter continued. “We’re improving access to the network for affiliates who haven’t worked with us before. We also have somewhere around 150 new offers, many of which are exclusive, including mobile-specific campaigns that allow us to leverage Matomy Media Group’s amazing tracking technology.” MediaWhiz has consistently been one of the Blue Book’s top-rated CPA networks, primarily because of their focus on providing great service. Each year, when we do the research survey for the Blue Book we see very high quality ratings for MediaWhiz from both advertisers and publishers, even though they haven’t been the biggest of networks. The challenge will be to maintain that level of quality as they expand. “Well, keeping our quality of service high is our job, isn’t it?” Peter said. “We can now offer so many new opportunities to our network publishers – game and app downloads, mobile campaigns, international – that we feel they are going to be really excited about. And our advertisers will enjoy the huge increase in traffic volume and variety that we are going to be able to offer.” This is an interesting time in the affiliate marketing industry. The industry shakeout that we have seen over the last two years, with both small and large networks going to the wall, is continuing. Consolidation was always going to happen as the fittest networks survive and prosper. MediaWhiz’s new expansion should be seen in that context. Fewer, better networks with high levels of professionalism are the future of the industry.
