I’m back from Affiliate Summit West 2007 and feeling good. The much-anticipated event went off firing on all cylinders last weekend and I joined the gathering on Sunday. I’m just now coming up for air. It was great seeing everyone for the kickoff meet-and-greets and I actually completely missed the NFC and AFC championship games. In my world that’s saying something.

The affiliate jam session on Sunday night was a great idea. Who knew we would be entertained by a parade of all-stars led by Brian “Affiliate Advocate of the Year” Littleton on piano and Scott Hazard, who was named Affiliate of the Year, on drums.

Thanks to the entire band for putting on a great show and coming through on an unexpected call for Black Magic Woman by Santana. Yes, that was me on vocals. I promise to get the chord changes worked out by Miami when we come to hang with my man on congas, Andy Rodriguez.

But Monday morning I was all business. When that keynote let out, the rush was on for the exhibit hall. Many dashed over to the Revenue booth to grab their cupcakes. And as conference goers were getting their chocolate and blue icing fix they lined up for our one-year free subscription promotion with the completion of our Qualification Card. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to introduce themselves and catch up. For me the highlight of the first-day sessions in the exhibit hall had to be the unveiling of the NASCAR and the TaxBrain racing team. Congratulations and thanks to Craig Petz and Todd Taylor.

After many hours of booth duty, it was back to the Wynn for a very nice dinner at Daniel Boulud with Snapfish and a group of their affiliates and partners. Thank you to Jason Weiser and Candice Nobles for hosting.

Next up was the oneNetworkDirect Pure Imagination party at Tryst in the Wynn. I got my prom-style picture with none other than Vinny Lingham along with this couple of hipsters that looked like they came in from my hometown hood straight off the Haight. It was great fun for everyone and the Pinnacle awards ceremony was cool. Congratulations to all the winners including Affiliate Manager of the Year Angel Djambazov from OnlineShoes.com

The night was still young and I made my last stop over at the Pussycat Lounge at Caesar’s Palace for a private party hosted by LeadFlash. There was more dancing and music with Affiliate Summit partygoers who were tapping the Red Bull for what turned into a 20-hour day.

Most folks made it back for the Day 2 sessions in time to scour the exhibit hall for more conference swag. I ended up with a pair of pink puppy slippers from ShareASale.
