google-200x200This morning Google made a slew of new product announcements at its annual developer conference, I/O. some highlights of the presentation:

  • Android now has over 1 billion active users (insert pinky finger into corner of mouth a la Dr Evil);
  • There is new Android platform specifically designed for wearable devices such as smartwatches:  AndroidWear;
  • There’s yet another platform for video devices:  AndroidTV;
  • And another! Android Auto for, you guessed it, automobiles.
  • And then there’s Google Cloud, Google Fit and other stuff too.

The bottom line: Google wants to run everything on every device, everywhere, constantly.
