In sports, the talk this week has been all about cloak and dagger espionage and illegal sign stealing by the Patriots, the best team in the NFL. It is yet another representation of the things teams, companies and people do to gain an advantage.

For the readers of Revenue, spying is not focused on corporate espionage, but relates to businesses that use or sell spyware and adware products and how that impacts online marketing. We are doing our best to maintain best practices that don’t condone that kind of unethical behavior. And you don’t need to do anything underhanded to have an advantage. You can get a leg up on the competition by getting in on our October e-mail newsletter, slated to launch on Wednesday, October 3. We have a couple of ad banner ad placements available and the creative deadline is Thursday, September 27.

On the print side of the house we are in full swing on the November/December 2007 Holiday edition of Revenue. Now is the time to book one of the few remaining ad placements in our final print edition of 2007 and our 20th issue. Print ad placements close on October 5.

Unfortunately, I’m not making the trip across the pond next week for the London conference double play at Ad:Tech and Affiliate Summit. Both events are taking place at the Olympia Conference Centre. Please, send the Queen my regards.

However, I will be here in San Francisco for the launch of the Online Market World conference taking place at the Moscone Center on October 3-5.
