Stay Warm With Revenue

Brrrrrrr! Right now it’s all about staying warm.

It’s chilly outside but it’s nice and cozy inside and that means you can spend more time to get your new offers up and running in the March/April 2007 edition of Revenue. This is our big Spring issue and it will be available at both Ad:Tech San Francisco and Search Engine Strategies New York in April. We have limited ad inventory in this issue so please follow up with us if you are looking to warm things up. The advertising deadline is January 31.

So what happened to that fun in the sun West Coast lifestyle that I was touting last week? An Arctic cold snap hit the San Francisco Bay Area with temps dipping into the 20s in some parts. That means you’ll want to keep the top up if you’re planning to cruise scenic Highway 1 while in Cali for the LinkSharePartnership Summit tomorrow. Actually, it’s a much a better idea to forget the drive and just bring your sweater, gloves, scarf and hat and have a drink with the team from Revenue at LinkShare’s event and the Affiliate Summit in Las Vegas next week. Speaking of touring cold climates, I was checking out the 2007 debut of a certain talent show that’s adored by millions of Americans and it was in Minneapolis looking for the next star to make it big on the pop charts. There was one aspiring idol from Eden Prairie, Minn., and I immediately thought I might actually know this person via 6 degrees of separation.

So in the spirit of celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. this week, remember to set your goals high and keep your dreams alive for 2007.

Coasting Along

Back in the day there was a cool cat that wrote a song that was a brief hit on the Billboard charts. The accompanying video was about taking a trip to the coast to bask in the sun and get a taste of the good life. Name that tune? Yeah, it’s Going Back to Cali. But I don’t have to go back because I’m already here and the West coast is the place to be – especially over the next few weeks.

The LinkShare Partnership Summit festivities kick off next week at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. If you are making the trip the Revenue sales team will be on hand for the event and if you need any S.F. tour guide recommendations from a native son or just want to talk about the March/April issue of the magazine, please feel free to give me a buzz. The fun in the sun kicks off in S.F. and I imagine some folks will probably spend an off day in the Napa wine country before they head for Vegas to the Affiliate Summit. The entire Revenue sales team will also be on hand at Bally’s to meet with you. Please come on by Booth 136 and say hello. There will also be chances to win some fabulous prizes including free advertising.

If you are going for the West coast trifecta there is a new show debuting in L.A. at the end of January called DOMAINfest Global. For those on the East Coast who are looking for a winter respite next week you can head down to Florida for some social networking on Miami Beach. If you are just too busy right now and domestic travel just doesn’t do it for you here’s your chance to work hard in January and February you can Win a Trip to Spain and take part in the America’s Cup yacht races in April. Now that’s an offer I’m going to follow up on!

Don’t forget to check your inbox as our January newsletter goes out today. I also just got a sneak peak at the new edition of Revenue and was very pleased with all the new content, creative and design.

Let me know what type of plans you are making for the spring. We are busy working on the March/April issue and the closing deadline for ad placements in this issue are coming up at the end of January. Hope to see you at one of the many shows this month.

Make 2007 a Banner Year

We’ve popped the bubbly and off we go into 2007. Here in San Francisco there was the usual waterfront of hoopla and even though New Year’s Eve festivities always leave me a little groggy, I managed to watch some crazy college football bowl games and I even caught a glimpse of The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade.

With all the celebrating behind us, it’s a new year and there are lots of new things to talk about: new offers from our partners;  the new January/February edition of Revenue is hot off the press and will begin shipping in the next week; our fantastic new publisher, Linda Holbrook,  is fully on board to help take the magazine and website to the next level; and our newly re-designed website lets you access content from previous issues of Revenue. That all adds up to some exciting stuff. You can get in on all the excitement by grabbing a banner in the upcoming January newsletter, which goes out to our subscribers on Wednesday, January 10. Contact us if you’d like more information.

While you resolve to let Revenue help you, I’m going to look for time to break away from the computer and play some more hoops, but most likely I will just continue jumping through those hoops and instead finding more ways to optimize.

Happy New Year!
