Microsoft is one of those companies that hasn’t yet worked out how to beat Google, but they keep trying, bless ’em.

This week they have rolled out a number of enhancements to Microsoft adCenter, including campaign management and keyword tools, content ad updates that provide much more control over ad placement to US users and a much more useful adCenter Desktop.

Microsoft describes these changes as part of their Spring 2009 Update, but given that many of the new features are still in Beta, and that their new search engine – codename Kumo – is rumored to be up for release very shortly, it’s safe to say that Microsoft is not sitting around waiting for redemption. Steve Ballmer is desperate to start clawing back some search share from Google and that’s going to mean opportunities for adCenter users.
