Press Release

CHICAGO and NEW YORK CITY – December 6, 2012 – Local Offer Network (LON), a leading provider of e-commerce technology, data and services, and Rakuten LinkShare today announced that LON content and services will be available to publishers through the Rakuten LinkShare Network.

The partnership will enable Rakuten LinkShare network publishers to easily provide their visitors with money-saving product and service offers aggregated by LON from a wide variety of local and national advertiser partners. Each day, LON aggregates and distributes tens of thousands of prepaid offers, coupons and other shopping content, and provides the tools that publishers need to select and display the content that is most timely and relevant to each user.

LON content is provided through a suite of feeds, APIs and widgets as well as Catalyst™, LON’s real-time personalization platform that identifies the most relevant content for any user from the first moment of contact with a site or app. Catalyst combines anonymous user profile data with LON’s proprietary Adaptive Response Model (ARM™), a predictive algorithm that scores content quality based on expected performance. Catalyst and ARM will be available to Rakuten LinkShare publishers.

“Since day one, we’ve been focused on delivering great shopping content to consumers wherever they are online, through a network of blue-chip partners,” said Dan Hess, CEO and co-founder of Local Offer Network. “This new partnership provides a springboard for LON to reach tens of millions of additional shoppers through high-quality publishers in the Rakuten Linkshare network.”

LON content is sourced from more than 200 market areas and spans dozens of product and service categories including local restaurants, sporting events, health and medicine and home services. LON also provides offers available nationwide including travel and adventure, consumer electronics, apparel, jewelry, pet products and more.

“LON solutions help publishers meet the strong consumer demand for local and national savings opportunities that LON sources through its broad network of advertisers,” said Adam Weiss, senior vice president of Global Network Development and Product Strategy for Rakuten LinkShare. “LON enables our publisher partners to display that content with tools that maximize efficiency, relevance and yield.”

Publishers wishing to use LON content through Rakuten LinkShare can contact their Rakuten LinkShare account manager or visit the LON site.
