TrueFalse_largeApparently there are four myths about affiliate marketing that we should all understand. Forbes brings the truth-telling: affiliate programs are not easy to run, they’re hard! And affiliate marketing isn’t outdated – people still use it, even today!
We should probably be grateful that a distinguished organ such as Forbes magazine has given the industry a little recognition, especially with its influence in the important big brand CMO demographic.

But it would be nice if the level of information on offer was just a bit more advanced than this:
“Although studies show that affiliate marketing isn’t easy, as you remember to foster relationships, focus on your niche, focus on a few key affiliates, and create a system that generates performance for both the advertiser and the affiliate you can drive profit and conversions for your small business.”

Especially when the article closes with a big red flag:
“There are caution flags, however when it comes to affiliate marketing. In a piece late last year, Affiliate Theft Could Be Costing You Millions, Forbes contributor Jabez LeBret wrote of unscrupulous affiliate marketers’ tactics which cost brands and businesses millions of dollars every year.”
And they seemed to be doing so well…
More gah! here.
