A Quarter Century of Proven Results
For more than a quarter of a century, Teksouth Corporation has been delivering high technology services to customers worldwide, notably the Department of Defense. Those services include data warehouse development, implementation and support; stand-alone/Web-based decision support systems tailored to customer requirements and high-speed secure data transfer management. It has successfully developed and implemented a multiterabyte-sized data warehouse, supporting more than 15,000 users Air Force-wide, including the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force and all major USAF commands.
âWorking with the Defense Department has been incredibly gratifying,â says Steve Wilsher, Teksouthâs chief executive officer. âWe have worked cooperatively with them to develop a system that helps Air Force personnel get specific questions to answers they need for budgetary analysis. And weâve done it in a time frame where they donât have to wait days, hours or even minutes for their answers ⦠the answers come back in less than 10 seconds. Knowing that we can deliver that kind of rapid response means that our system has become increasingly mission-critical to the Defense Department.â
Now Teksouth has taken that core technology and commercialized it into its industry-leading product, called EntelliCacheâ¢. âBusinesses have the same need for insight that the government does,â Wilsher noted. âFor companies to gain and maintain an advantage, they must move rapidly. EntelliCache is specifically designed to get them the information they need, when they need it.â He noted that EntelliCache is designed to work with business intelligence tools from leading BI vendors such as Cognos, Business Objects and Microsoft.
But Teksouth has not rested there. Its experts realized that all too often, companies resisted implementing a BI system, because of uncertainty over the costs involved. âWe continually heard horror stories from potential clients; theyâd been given an estimate that seemed fair, but those costs quickly spiraled out of control,â said Brad Marshall, Teksouthâs project director. âWe were told that of projects that ended up costing more than 10 times the original estimate. As a result, companies were gun-shy about doing anything else, and that represented a real challenge for us.â
Teksouth, however, was up to that challenge. It has leveraged its experience to introduce a fixed-price BI implementation service, specifically aimed at midsize firms, enabling them to confidently implement critical business intelligence tools at their companies that can help their bottom line. Most importantly Teksouthâs approach is specifically designed so that there will be no surprises to the bottom line; the agreed-upon price is the delivered price.
In addition, Teksouth offers IQSwiftâ¢, a managed file transfer product. Initially designed at the request of the Department of Defense, IQSwift offers firms the ability to securely and reliably transmit large files at a fraction of the cost and in a fraction of the time required by other methods.
Teksouth Corporation is translating its experience working for the government into delivering products that make a difference for businesses worldwide. It has done this for 25 years, and is moving forward to expand that experience.
