There is good news from Minnesota it seems, with an announcement that HF2323 – the Minnesota Internet tax bill – has failed to pass. There’s not much detail available at the time of this writing so it’s not quite certain whether this means that the Internet tax element has been stripped out of the Omnibus Bill, or if the entire bill has gone back for redrafting and brought forward again later.
We’ll know more soon but if true, this report is good news, especially in combination with the success in stopping similar legislation in California. This is an ongoing war across the country, but the performance marketing industry is definitely winning one or two battles. There is hope yet.
